Nearly 40,000-feet of climbing, 373-off road miles and viciously unpredictable weather, all packed into seven brutally long days. If that sounds like your idea of fun, Race Face wants to hook you up. They’re giving two teams (four riders altogether) an all-expenses-paid trip to compete in the 2005 Trans Rockies. Held August 7-13, the Trans Rockies Race follows the continental divide from Fernie, British Columbia to Canmore, Alberta and is widely considered the toughest mountain bike competition in the world.

Much like the popular Ultimate Freeride Challenge, Race Face is calling the new Trans Rockies contest the Ultimate XC Challenge (UXC). Winners will be picked by reviewing 90-second videos of pairs of interested up-and-coming cross-country racers. Entries will be judged on not only race results and skill, but also their motivation to compete and personality. Race Face will then post the top ten teams on its website and allow readers to vote. The two teams will be completely outfitted with Race Face components and clothing and all event expenses will be paid, a $10,000 per team value.
