Traditionally, U.S. national champions were based on their performance in a season-long series. This year however, competitors fought it out during the winner-take-all national championships at Mammoth Mountain. Although it took four days of racing to get through the numerous categories, when the dust settled the United States had a new crop of champions.

Another remarkable addition to the weekend was the return of the Mammoth Kamikaze. NORBA dropped the legendary Kamikaze from the schedule in 2001, but due to popular demand, they brought it back.
The welcome changes provided action-packed viewing and stress-filled competition. Living legend John Tomac even won the Kamikaze. Here's a video of the highlights and a breakdown of the results.
