After finishing third and second in the past two world championships, Mongoose's Eric Carter stormed to victory Saturday night and finally took the four-cross world title. The 33-year-old national champion out maneuvered the field in front of up to 25,000 spectators.

In the final round, Eric "EC" Carter charged through a narrow gap between 2003 World Champ Michal Prokop (Czech Republic) and Michael Deldycke (France). He was following the pair when they bumped bars and bobbled, leaving an open path. EC pulled ahead and held off the other three all the way to the line.
