JANUARY 24th: NEWS Patent Lawsuit Forces Scott's Hand Specialized was once fairly open to licensing the Horst Link to other companies, but has become a bit more guarded over the years. Bottom line: if you’re a small company that presents little risk to Specialized’s market share, they might let you pay to put the Horst Link on your bikes. If you’re a real rival for floor space in bike shops, however, the odds of Specialized licensing that patent to you are slim to none.
JANUARY 20th: NEWS SRAM's New Road Group SRAM is extending its reach and entering a market that has long been dominated by only two companies: Campagnolo and Shimano. This is no half-hearted product launch either. SRAM is jumping into the fray with a product line almost as broad as its competitors.

According to Rolling Stone, the safe allowance for most earbud/MP3 combinations at 60-percent volume is a meager 30-minutes per day. They also mention one of the main problems is people crank the volume way beyond the safe limit to drown out ambient sound (like traffic or wind, in our case).
