Previewed: Santa Cruz's New Jackal Jump Frame

Santa Cruz bike has lifted the veil on their new Jackal jump bike. It's freshly redesigned after two seasons of input by Syndicate riders Jamie Goldman and Kirt Voreis, the all-new Jackal is built to do one thing - Jump.

Gone is the gas tank of a formed top tube and one-piece seat stays. Even the down tube is more conventional without the prior model's headtube bend. In their place are less obtrusive straight tubes and some welded gussets that appear purely functional.

The new Jackal is all about short, stiff chain and seat stays, the right feel when transitioning from ground to air and back, a top tube that stays out of the way when throwing legs over it, and a frame that's strong enough to stick every landing and handle every time the landing goes wrong.
