Today's foul-weather gear is lighter, more breathable and offers better protection against the elements than ever before. Check out some of the season's best new riding gear.
Seattle Sports Aquaknot /// $75
800-632-6163; SEATTLESPORTSCO.COM
Seattle Sports designed the Aquaknot pack to keep your belongings dry on wet rides. The 1,600-cubic-inch pack can seal three different ways, depending on preference and waterproofing needs. It features padded back panels with grooves for airflow, gusseted side pockets that are perfect for water bottles and highly reflective patches on the back. The nearly submersible pack also comes in 1,200- or 1,800-cubic-inch versions.
RaceFace Kenny /// $215
604-527-9996; ; RACEFACE.COM
RaceFace built its waterproof and breathable Kenny jacket with an abundance of technical features and style. This roomier "freeride fit" jacket has waterproof zippers with custom tabs for easier use with gloves. It also features underarm vents, multiple routings for an mp3 player and a cinch-down hood and waist.
I understand that these products offer bombproof tech. As I have owned/tried a number of these products, they work quite well in adverse conditions. However, many of the people that read these reviews can't afford a $150+ jacket. If you could incorporate some budget conscious alternatives that offer good value, I think you would be catering to a larger demographic (especially in this economy!). Thanx.

Swerveon- The problem with this mag is, only companies that make jackets at $150 > buy advertising.
Dirtrag.com's blog has a series (1-4) of cheap ways to stay ride warm.

This is true. However, there are companies that advertise for the mag or web site that have cheaper alternatives. REI is on the top of this page right now and they have a couple of options <$150. Just sayin. Good spot on the Dirtrag.com article.
