In 1982, what started as a phone call from Yoshi Shimano to the HQ in Japan about a growing cycling movement resulted in a full set of components designed specifically for mountain bikes. Shimano Deore XT was born. One quarter of a century later, Deore XT still represents a component set designed to take on the challenges dished out by modern day aggressive mountain bike riders on severe terrain.
