Photos: Sea Otter Classic Dual Slalom
|
This past Saturday's Sea Otter Slalom race was the first in recent memory to feature mild weather conditions, but that doesn't mean it was an easy race. The dusty, dry and in some places crumbling, course was a big challenge for the racers. Many big names crashed out of the event as their traction evaporated into a cloud of dust. The challenging course favored true bike handlers with lots of steering skill and lighting-fast reflexes, and so it was little surprise to see Sam Hill and Melissa Buhl on the top of the podium by dusk that evening.
