Last month Salsa Cycles held their first-ever Sol Session, which was a combination product release, Salsa HQ tour and camping/riding trip all rolled into one. The highlight of the week was taking a Western Spirits guided trip through the Chequamegon-area mountain bike trails on the new Salsa bikes. We rode for three days, first on the Hatchery Creek trails near Hayward, Wisconsin, then on a large loop just south of Lake Namakagon and finally a shorter loop starting at the Telemark Resort near Cable, Wisconsin.
The terrain was heavily wooded, very twisty and relentlessly hilly without being mountainous. You didn't have to invest in any long climbs before being rewarded with epic singletrack in these parts. As soon as you dove into the trees you'd be greeted with twisty, pumpy, flowing tracks of fun. Many thanks go out to the folks at CAMBA for building and maintaining these great riding areas.
