Costumed thrill-junkies raced through downtown Crested Butte last Friday during the city's annual Chainless DH race. The event was part of Fat Tire Bike Week, which also included of a 40-mile bike race, a 24-hour townie race, and enough music and beer to make anyone want to hit high speeds over asphalt while wearing a luchador-mask or some leopard-print stretch-pants. The festival is also preceded by the Wildflower Rush stop of the Mountain States Cup Series, so plan ahead for next year and get a whole week of Rocky Mountain Awesome.
