The Sea Otter Classic is the biggest bike race in the US and the mountain bike race season opener. Being such an important event it also plays a big role in spring product releases and unveilings. Rock Shox Recon - With all the sexy high-end bling on display at Sea Otter Classic, it’s easy to overlook mid-range products like the Recon. Sitting in RockShox product between the Reba and Tora, the Recon has been given a revamp for 2008 with die cast aluminum adjuster knobs and 100 fewer grams than last year’s version. The 3.6-pound Recon Race pictured here is a solid 100-millimeter workhorse, and a Recon 351 U-Turn version ought to be popular with the all mountain set, weighing in at 4.4 pounds and sporting 85- to 130-millimeters of adjustable travel. |
