Then the course was too soft to hold up to any substantial abuse on Friday--the day we usually get to see the qualifying. That meant that the racers would get to practice, qualify, and then race, all in one afternoon--an especially difficult pill to swallow if you also race DH on the same day, but that's racing…
7-28-08 // Photo Gallery: '08 Mt. St. Anne Cross Country Sunshine all weekend dried out the muddy Mont Sainte Anne cross-country course, but a dousing of rain the night before the race kept the riding technical and everyone on their toes. Marie Helene Premont and Julien Absalon maintained their winning efforts against a field that's somewhat preoccupied with the Olympics just around the corner next month.
7-28-08 // Photo Gallery: '08 Mont-Saint-Anne Downhill Rachel Atherton and Greg Minnaar turn it up for the first North American World Cup event of 2008, winning the downhil events. The rain held off just enough the night before the big event to dry out the course and improve traction for the best downhill competiors in the world.
7-23-08 // Photo Gallery: Mt Snow Nationals Super D The Mount Snow, Vermont Nationals also saw the pros challenge each other on a super-D course. Beginning with a running Le Mans mass start, a field of aggressive XC competitors dove down the mountain and through the woods chasing after yet another national title.
