The 16th La Ruta de los Conquistadores was held November 12-15 and again staked its claim as one of the world's toughest mountain bike stage race. Costa Rican Federico Ramirez won the event finishing 2008's La Ruta in a time of 17:52:32--some 30 minutes faster than last year’s event.
