Stage races and endurance events have become more popular recently. As a result, the days of professional teams simply following the NMBS and World Cup series are long gone. The 2008 MonaVieCannondale.com racing team is one example of a team that's breaking out of the traditional mold with plans to stop at the BC Bike Race, Trans Baja, La Ruta de los Conquistadors, the 24hrs of Moab, as well as select national calendar endurance and cross country events.
The MonaVieCannondale.com mountain bike team targets races that provide a total immersion experience - epic conditions, exotic travel, intense competition, and a teamwork environment. Unique XC events combined with the adventurous nature of endurance events in new locations are the events that stories are made of, and thus the foundation of this team's endeavors.
Started in 2007, MonaVieCannondale.com is welcoming the following new member to the squad for 2008: 2x US Olympian and current 24 Hour Solo World Champion Tinker Juarez, 2004 World & 2007 National XTERRA Champion Jamie Whitmore, Four Cross and Downhill contender Leana Gerrard, U23 Cyclocross and XC mountain bike World's candidate Mitchell Peterson, and Master's 35+ women's cyclocross champion Sue Butler.
