News: Cannondale Signs Duncan Riffle

Cannondale has a long racing heritage, with alumni including downhillers Myles Rockwell, Missy Giove, Cedric Gracia and Anne-Caroline Chausson so it come as no surprise that they are making some aggressive moves to have a top notch gravity squad in 2008.

A Factory Cannondale Racing Team has just been announced with plans to compete in the Nissan UCI World Cup events, UCI World Championships as well as other European and North American races.

The lineup for the '08 team includes Dutch four-cross star Joost Wichman, UK Junior competitor Sam Dale and for the big news of the week, two-time US National DH Champion Duncan Riffle from Santa Barbara California.

The Cannondale Factory Team will be riding Cannondale frames with RockShox suspension, SRAM shifting, Avid brakes, Gravity cranks, Mavic wheels and Maxxis tires.

Cannondale's CUT team, a group of progressive mountain bikers with the intent to bring freeriding to the masses, is in its 3rd season. The 2008 CUT team includes Aaron Chase, Wayne Goss, Amir Kabbani, Carlo Dieckmann and Chris Van Dine. You'll see CUT riders on the road this season at the Nissan Qashqai Tour, Crankworx and other freeride events as well as filming videos.

So although they won't be on the same exact team, both Duncan Riffle and Chris Van Dine, two of America's fastest downhillers, will both be riding for Cannondale in '08.
