Bike Month, including Bike To Work Day on Friday May 18, was started over fifty years ago in 1956. Since that time a federal transportation bill has set aside more than $5 billion for bicycling with the goal of making it easier and safer to recreate and commute on a bicycle in the United States. Bike Month, and Bike To Work Day in particular, are celebrated by hundred of thousands of people across the country every year.
Of course, we all want you to continue riding your bike to work after this week too. It’s definitely one of our personal goals and of greater importance now more than ever due to the high cost of gasoline. Here are some resources to help make the life of a bicycle commuter much easier.
