The Wham Bam Thank You Jam announces two more events for 2007
6-18-07 // Events: More Wham Bam Dates
Two more dates have been added to the 2007 Wham Bam schedule: Bend and Government Camp, Oregon will be the next two locations for the upcoming events.
The Bend, Oregon Wham Bam event will be a “photo freeride scavenger hunt”. The date will be Saturday, July 14th, the weekend in between the Colorado and Whistler Crankworx events.
The Photo Wham Bam in Bend will feature teams of two taking on a list of features that need to be captured digitally. The stunts and features are professionally built (legally) all over the town of Bend, and the surrounding forest area, by Chris Jordon, Kirt Voreis and Rage Films, in cooperation with the Central Oregon Trail Alliance. An interactive after-party displays the photos from each team and the winners are crowned.

“We wanted to put on a fun contest where no one feels the pressure to do a backflip off a huge drop. We know that all the riders are preparing for Crankworx, but we still want to have fun riding bikes in between events, and the photo freeride scavenger hunt will do just that,” says event founder Aaron Lutze. “We’re going to keep the fun theme behind the Wham Bam going, while still offering up a professionally-run event for all the riders to enjoy.”
The next Wham Bam event for 2007 will be at Windells Camp on Mt. Hood. Windells is a well-known snow training facility and is opening their slope to the Wham Bam for a slopestyle contest on September 1st and 2nd, and Toyota has already signed on as a sponsor of the event. The prize packages for the next two Wham Bam events are growing steadily as more partners join the series.
