The new Python is re-engineered specifically for 29-inch applications.

The rideable, pre-production samples of the tire that were shown at Sea Otter didn’t have the UST “hotpatch” on its sidewall, but Gullickson said the UST standard for 29ers has just recently been approved and that production Python 29ers will be the first official “UST-approved” 29er tire.
Target weight for the Pythons is 645 grams, and the company plans to also offer its Bulldog and Piranha treads for 29er wheels. MSRP for the new Pythons is $50 and they will be available in June.

The early prototype Niner had on hand was built up with a super-spec’ including a never-before-seen Pace 29er fork, DT Swiss carbon fiber rear shock and the new Mavic wheels and Hutchinson tires. All those parts added up to about 23 pounds and the production frame, which will come with a Fox RP23 will weigh in at 5.5 pounds.
