Big tricks and style begin the Colorado Crankworx Festival
Online Exclusive: Crankworx CO Best Trick
The lower session was more intimidating as the consequences of blowing a landing off the 20-foot step down was fairly significant, especially since the wind was picking up a bit. As a result it took longer for things to get going and the variety of tricks being thrown was smaller. After some basic drops Cam McCaul manned up and backflipped the drop. Andrew Taylor also flipped it and even added a table to his flip. Then Cam shut it all down. He sent the drop with the first-ever superman-backflip off a drop in history. The crowd and riders alike went nuts and Cam basically sat back and watched what everyone else could come up with. Justin Wyper and Tyler McCaul both tailwhipped the drop while Andrew Taylor repeatedly attempted to link together a tabled flip, step-up tailwhip and a 360 off of the quarter, but nobody could answer McCauls super-flip drop. As a finale, Cam super-flipped the drop again just to let everyone know how confident he is and grabbed the $2000 cash prize.
