Three-time mountain cross World Champion Jill Kintner left mountain biking behind for 2008 in effort to better concentrate on racing BMX in the Olympics. We interviewed Jill about the big change back in December (Read Here).
Now we're happy to report that Jill just won a bronze medal in the Olympic BMX finals. Jill's years of experience paid off in the final race. Although she didn't have the best start, she waited and watched, when a crash took out the second-place rider, Shanaze Reade, Jill pounced into position and sprinted for the finish.
A late-night post from Jill's blog read, "This experience has been incredible and to walk away a champion is something else. I'm very happy to be able to give something back to everyone who has supported me along the way."

Renown retired mountain biker Anne-Caroline Chausson won the gold while her French teammate Laetitia le Corguille took silver.
In the men's race, the U.S. team walked away with two medals. Mike Day and Donny Robinson finished in second and third place to Latvia's Maris Strombergs. The men's final was also broken apart by a big crash. Yeti mountain bikes' Jared Graves, racing for Australia, had been riding very strong through all the qualifiers and was poised for the podium, but was knocked out of competition by a fallen rider in the second to last turn.
