Red Bull is hosting its first-ever international action and adventure sports photography competition. Dubbed the Red Bull Illume Image Quest, the competition showcases the world of action and adventure sports, the athletes who define those sports and the photographers who capture that world for the rest of us.
Submissions from more than 2,000 photographers hailing from more than 90 countries have been winnowed down to 50 finalists, which will be unveiled January 24 at the base of Little Nell Run in Aspen, Colorado.
Several Bike Magazine contributors are represented, including John Gibson, Derek Frankowski and Yorik Carroux, among others.
