Ray’s 3Ride began as a small indoor contest, but is quickly growing into one of the country’s premier competitions. This year, the contest added events, additional days and is even open to select amateurs.
Held at Ray’s MTB Indoor Park in Cleveland, Ohio, Ray’s 3Ride began last year with a jump jam, speed trials and a pump track race. The event attracted the likes of Brian Lopes, Jamie Goldman and Greg Watts. This year’s event will be held February 9-11 and organizers expect more than 40 riders to compete for the $10,000 prize purse.
Instead of holding the entire competition in a single day, this year’s event begins on Friday with an open qualifier, which consists of two time trial runs around the Gary Fisher XC loop followed by a Red Bull box jump competition. The top-qualifying riders will compete with the pros on Saturday and Sunday.

The competition kicks off proper on Saturday with a time trial around the Moen Sport Course, and dual-slalom races on the Gary Fisher pump track—likely the only pump track in the country that offers head-to-head racing with a digital timing system. Sunday’s events include a competition in the Subaru street park and a Red Bull jump jam.
